Every school kid sooner or later needs to come up with a design to convert a shoe box into a Valentine mailbox. After seeing Tangled and Shrek the Musical recently, Michaela had princesses and towers on her mind. This year she wanted to make a princess castle. A yellow princess castle. We didn't have yellow construction paper, but after an afternoon of intense negotiations she agreed to a red and pink princess castle. She designed and glued; I helped a bit with the cutting (she admits that straight lines aren't her strong point). We came up with a princess castle-- complete with a princess trapped in the tower. She'll take it into school tomorrow as assigned-- as long as she actually has school tomorrow, and not another snow day!
