Alex recently had a piece of artwork picked to be included in a display of work by students of the Memphis Catholic Schools. The art was on display for a month at St Francis Hosptial. On a recent Sunday afternoon, there was an awards and recognition ceremony held at St. Francis. Alex was called to the stage with other students from his school and got to meet and shake the hand of Dr Mary McDonald, the superintendent of the Memphis Catholic Schools. It gave us a good opportunity to give him a quick lesson in how to accept an award (don't fidget on stage, look Dr. McDonald in the eye, give her a firm handshake, and say "thank you") and in general gave him an opportunity to hone his politeness skills. He carried himself very well on stage!
