Ringing Rocks (8.4.11)
While visiting Nana and Pop-Pop, we spent a couple of days with our dear friend Genevieve and her beautiful girls Maura and Michaela. Genevieve and I each named our second child Michaela, and each of the respective Michaelas bears her grandmother's name as her middle name. So anytime we get our families together, we make sure to use Michaela Helen's and Michaela Joan's full names. On this particular lovely summer Pennsylvania day, we visited Ringing Rocks County Park, a big hit with kids, because of the huge boulder field full of rocks that truly do "ring" when hit with a hammer. So we dug up all the hammers we could find in Pop-Pop's many toolboxes (he had 7), put on climbing shoes and went out to the boulder field. We all found our favorite pitched rock and had an adventurous afternoon of climbing.
We had so much fun that Alex begged to go back to Ringing Rocks-- so 2 days later when his cousins made it into town from OH, we went back for another afternoon of climbing, ringing, and hiking.
