These 2 can really get used to this. Alex and Michaela accompanied me on our second trip to Orlando, FL, this year. Me, to speak at a conference; them, to visit Grandma and play. Once again, we found the logistics easiest if Sophia stayed home with Jimmy to oversee the swimming pool build, scheduled to start (gulp) while we were gone!
Grandma Marsha picked us up at the airport and stayed with us at the resort for 4 days and 3 nights of fun. We stayed at the fabulous Gaylord Palms resort, which has an amazing pool/water slides/spray park for kids on site.
However, on our first day in town, we ran into the first hitch in our plan. We had PLANNED to swim and ride the water slides at the hotel all day. But we HADN'T made a plan for what to do during the daily afternoon thunderstorms that hit this time of year. We found out when we checked in that 1) there is no indoor pool and 2) the outdoor pool was closed til the storms passed but fortunately 3) the hotel concierge had an indoor treasure hunt planned for us. This hotel has a license for all Dreamwork characters, so they had a Puss in Boots Search for the Magic Beans set up all throughout the massive indoor gardens. We had fun scouring the resort to find the 13 clues. So much fun that when the sun came out and Michaela wanted to swim, Alex wouldn't stop the treasure hunt until we had found every last one and solved the riddle.
