There are a few dishes that MUST adorn our Christmas table each year, or it wouldn't be Christmas. Of course we need to make by hand Polish potato peirogies, my dad's mother's recipe; Polish cookies called chrusciki (pronounced crews-cheeky); babka; a chocolate Yule Log; and popcorn balls made from Jimmy's grandmother's recipe. We spent a busy Christmas Eve in the kitchen, conjuring up all these wonderful treats. Everyone pitched in (okay, Sophia did more sampling than helping) and the house smelled divine!
After a full day in the kitchen, we were ready to head to Jimmy's grandmother's house for the Crews family Christmas celebration. What a special day and what a special night!
With all these homemade treats in the house, Alex, Michaela and Sophia each got to choose their favorite to share with Santa!
